Colon Cancer

What age were you diagnosed?

What has helped you to thrive?

Whilst the doctors have given me an incurable prognosis, I have made peace with the idea of living with cancer. Until my back started hurting, I was feeling very healthy, had just gone through a healthy pregnancy and was in a very positive place in my life. My aim is to return to that state with the help of spinal surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and the use of excellent nutrition to support my body. My wonderful husband, 1 year old son and amazing family and friends are helping support me through this and make every challenge manageable.

Caroline's Story

I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer at 33 after suffering severe backpain for a number of months which turned out to be a secondary tumour in my spine. The cancer has also spread to my lungs and liver, but no longer appears to be in my colon. I had polyps removed a couple of years ago and, whilst they thought at the time that they were pre cancerous, the finding made me re-evaluate my life, leave a high stress job and start training as a Nutritional Therapist; something I hope to complete when I'm through the initial stages of my cancer treatment and more mobile again.
