Claire's Story

I was diagnosed with stage cancer 12th August 2019. The following week I had the CT scan It turned out from the results I had Stage 4a Bowel cancer spread to my nodes.

I worked right up until the day before surgery as for me keeping normal and talking to clients about the day to day of “normal” life kept me from thinking too much about my prognosis and what was to come.....perhaps even a little arrogant to think I’d be ok and back to normal after surgery which turned out to be open surgery not key-hole, as an abscess had grown inside my bowel (I’ve letter found out this is what gave me the symptoms and in turn saved my life.)

I’m currently still under the Liverpool woman’s hospital being checked for lynch syndrome as my late mum had metastatic stomach cancer, they didn’t know the primary as she had passed away before further tests could be done.
