Hodgkin's Lymphoma

25

What has helped you to thrive?

Since my diagnosis I’ve found that getting back into exercise and spending time with my friends and family has really helped me. During treatment I made sure that I left the house even when I was feeling crappy, even if it was for a quick cup of tea down the road!  But now that I’ve finished, it’s important for me to build my strength back up, meet new people that have been though the same experience and get back to feeling like me.

Emma's Story

After finding a couple of lumps in My neck, I was diagnosed on the Friday of August bank holiday 2018, before they even had the results from the core biopsy, as they were so sure of my diagnosis. I then had to Wait an excruciating week for the core results for the doctors to confirm the diagnosis.

I then had the PET scan to confirm staging, a meeting with the fertility clinic to talk about egg collection and More appointments than I can remember.

I was fortunate enough that I had time to do an egg collection which commenced with two weeks of self injections every day twice a day, scans at the clinic and then an egg collection itself on the Saturday.

I then started my course of ABVD chemo the following Friday, which was 8 rounds or 4 months. I had a picc line but I kept on getting allergic reactions to the dressing so I was at the hospital ALL the time.

Ive now finished chemo and am about to start 3.5 weeks of radiotherapy.
