Guest Speakers

Lisa Wells

We are delighted to welcome Lisa Wells, who is 32 year old mother of two beautiful girls and is living with terminal liver and bowel cancer. Last year she wrote her book 'Only One of Me.' She will be joining us to talk about her experience and the way she lives her life. And of course how she navigates explaining to her children about cancer and the difficulties she faces.

Caroline Leek

Caroline is the founder of Fruit Fly Collective. Her background is in scientific research in neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders. She lives in London with her husband and two children. Shortly before her 13th birthday, her dad was diagnosed with cancer and died three months later. She never received any support, and as a consequence has struggled with prolonged periods of grief throughout adulthood.

Steve Marshall

Steve Marshall is a clinical academic working at Kings College London. He combines clinical practice as a palliative care social worker with the SCYP research project, which explores the needs of children and young people with a parent with a life-limiting illness.  Steve has many years of experience of working with parents living with life-limiting conditions and this is the motivation for the SCYP Project.  For more information about the research, head to: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/nursing/departments/cicelysaunders/research/living/scyp/home
