Have you just finished your treatment? Feeling unsure where to go from here? You're not alone.

After treatment ends that "happily ever after" moment of walking out of the hospital and back to your 'normal' life is never as straight forward and simple as we'd like it to be.

This recovery and readjustment period can involve fatigue, side-effects from treatment and trouble regaining confidence in yourself and your body. It's not exactly a clear, open road.

That's why we're bringing you the chance to hear from the best experts we know - two people from our community who've been there. They'll be sharing their experience, insight, wit and wisdom. You'll also have the chance to connect with others who understand what it's like.

We know each cancer experience is different, so remember some of the things you hear during this event might be worth banking for later or may not be right for you at all.

YOU'LL GO AWAY FROM THIS EVENT...

  • Empowered to ask the right questions when talking with your medical/ oncology team during follow up appointments
  • Able to seek support when you need it
  • Knowing how to chat to friends and family about how you feel
  • Better equipped with tools to be kind to your mind
  • Connected with others who are in the same boat and hopefully feeling less alone
  • Understanding the ways Trekstock can help you along the way

MEET YOUR HOSTS:

Hiral was 21 years old when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. She received treatment for 2.5 years and has been in remission since 2020.

"Life post cancer has been really tough. I won't sugar coat that but all my hard work is paying off as I'm currently enrolled in university to study adult nursing and hopefully one day work in oncology. Cancer has taught me that it has many rollercoasters moments but you can choose which ride you want to choose in life."

Callum is 27 and lives in London. He was diagnosed with Stage 3BS Hodgkin lymphoma at 21 in his final year at university. He had 6 months of chemotherapy and went into remission in December 2017.

"Life has changed a lot for me since treatment - I've moved to a new city, been through several jobs, travelled, volunteered and ... slowly but surely ... tried to spend less time in doctors' waiting rooms!!! However, it hasn't been without challenges and far from a straight forward path of 'onwards and upwards'. I can't wait to be a part of this Trekstock event as it it's so important to be able to talk about life post-treatment because, let's be honest, it's the time when you're often left to fend for yourself having to attempt to navigate your own post treatment pathway - As unique as that might be to you, its so useful to be able to hear from others who are also attempting to do the very same."
