Whilst five months pregnant with her second child, Laura Pearson who shared her story with us during our Parenting Trekstock Talks in May, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35. During what should have been a happy time, Laura was now faced with an unknown and scary new reality.

She decided to go along to a support group. When she got there she was mistaken for a speaker, as they didn't expect some of her age to have cancer, as she was so young. This feeling is regularly felt across the Trekstock network by our young adults, as they are often the youngest person on the ward or in the waiting area.

This is when Laura started her blog, Breast Cancer and Baby, to raise awareness of cancer in young pregnant women. This has recently been reported by BBC Radio Leicester, to watch it click here.
