"Elliot believed in living life to the full, and he really enjoyed keeping active. Elliot recognised how physical activity could have a really positive impact on mental health and emotional well-being, and so wanted to support Trekstock." - Annabel Dallen, Elliot's sister.

We are incredibly grateful to Elliot, his family and friends for raising a phenomenal £46,480 and counting, to help Trekstock continue to support young adults living with and beyond cancer.

Elliot was 29 when he was diagnosed in 2018 with adrenocortical carcinoma, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer. Elliot sadly died in September 2020.

Before his death, Elliot had two articles published by the Guardian. In Elliot's first article, published in early April 2020, he spoke openly about coping with terminal cancer during the coronavirus pandemic. In sharing the lessons he'd learned, reflecting on the importance of gratitude, connecting with others and the value of a life well lived, Elliot's writing caused waves and inspired everyone to reflect on their own lives. Elliot's moving articles led many readers to donate to his chosen charity, Trekstock. Elliot died aged 31, hours after the Guardian published his second article

Elliot's attitude towards life and his compelling message has and will continue, to inspire people for years to come. We recommend taking the time to read these articles in a quiet place and use the time to reflect. Elliot's personal blog, which he started shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, can be found here: http://thecortisoldiaries.blogspot.com/

Elliot's sister, Annabel, told us that: "Elliot chose to raise money for Trekstock because, among other things, Elliot liked the fact that Trekstock encourages and supports physical well-being for young adults with cancer, for example, by providing bespoke exercise programmes." Annabel also told us that "Elliot's friends and old colleagues have also done an excellent job at raising funds for Trekstrock in Elliot's memory, through challenging walks and cycle rides. It's really tremendous and Elliot would have loved the fact he's inspired this sort of action".

We're proud to share Elliot's vision of the importance of exercise to help young adults thrive with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Elliot's family are currently in the process of setting up a charity in his memory called the 'Elliot Dallen Trust'. The Trust, which hopes to complete registration within the coming weeks, aims to raise funds for numerous charities. Once registration is complete, you will be able to find further details here: https://www.elliotdallentrust.org/)

Thank you to Elliot, his family and friends.
