A huge thank you to the Garfield Weston Foundation for urgent core funding that has helped Trekstock have an immediate positive physical, emotional and social impact on the young adults we support. As a small dynamic charity, this grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation has enabled us to continue transforming the lives of young adults with cancer through our proven programmes that help young adults to unite and thrive.

“Trekstock is so important because the charity makes young adults feel part of something, at a time when they can feel most isolated.” Karen Hamlen, Teenage Cancer Trust Lead Nurse, Newcastle.

This funding helped Trekstock efficiently deliver programmes to new and existing beneficiaries around the UK. These programmes will have the following outcomes on the young adults we support;

  • Young adults in their 20s and 30s are able to get moving safely, regain their strength and improve their quality of life during this time.
  • Young adults are connected into a nationwide supportive community of their peers living with similar challenges.
  • Young adults are less socially isolated.

  • Young adults have an improved state of psychological well-being.

  • Young adults have ongoing expert led advice and support when they need it most.

Ensuring these services continue to reach this group of vulnerable young adults is of paramount importance to the Team at Trekstock.
