What cancer were you diagnosed with?

Lobular ER and Breast Cancer

What age were you diagnosed?

34

What has helped you to thrive?

These days if there’s something we really want to do we will work out away to do it even if it seems extravagant, so we’ve seen the Rolling Stones, Paul Simon and YoYoMa this year, the latter two involving trips to London for the sole purpose of going to a concert. And this week I’m taking to the catwalk for Breast Cancer Care Scotland in their fashion show, which is completely out of my comfort zone.

Jenny's Story

I was diagnosed with lobular ER+ breast cancer in 2013, when I was 34. I live in Edinburgh with my husband, Ben, and we have an allotment. I had the full array of treatment, a lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy and a cavity shave, 6 cycle of chemotherapy and 19 sessions of radiotherapy, and I’ve been on hormonal therapy since, yo-yoing in and out of the menopause. My husband and I were meant to go to Australia and New Zealand the Christmas after my diagnosis which we had to cancel when we found out I needed chemotherapy. Ive struggled with fatigue since treatment but we’ve managed trips to San Francisco, New Zealand, Venice, Copenhagen, Berlin and Barcelona.
