Choosing to leave a donation in your will to Trekstock or organizing an event to celebrate the life of someone special are great ways of supporting us.

In memory

Each year, thousands of people take on a personal challenge or organise an event to celebrate the life of someone special.

In Memory Walk for Max Roebuck-Sacks

We are incredibly grateful to Max's friends, family and partner, Jess, for their donations and fundraising in memory.

Max's friend's Johnny and Ed walked over 100 miles raising more than £13,000 in the Brecon Beacons, a park Max loved and enjoyed. Johnny and Ed were joined by Jess for part of their walk.

“Throughout Max’s illness I felt that there was a gap in supporting young adults with cancer and so I was so pleased when I found Trekstock. Exercise and being outdoors was really important to Max and so Trekstock’s mission really resonated with me. I wanted to continue fundraising in Max’s memory to give something back to Trekstock and help ensure no young adult with cancer or their loved ones have to face it alone” Jess Herrick, Max's partner.

Sign up for one of our challenges or organise your own fundraising event for your loved one. For more information on ways to support us in memory of a loved one please get in touch or call 020 45417601.

We would like to shine a light on Elliot Dallen, and thank his family and friends for raising a phenomenal £46,480 for Trekstock.

Elliot was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) in May 2018, aged 29, and died in September 2020, aged 31. He loved live music, festivals, travel, many sports, reading and spending time with those closest to him. ACC is an aggressive cancer that affects approximately one in a million people per year. You can find out more about ACC here. Unfortunately, most ACCs are diagnosed at advanced stages.

Elliot wrote two articles for The Guardian in the months preceding his death. Elliot's Guardian articles moved many readers to donate to Trekstock, his chosen charity, in Elliot's name. Incredibly, Elliot's second article also made it into 'The 200 Moments That Made the Guardian', during The Guardian's 200th birthday celebration in May 2021.

"Elliot believed in living life to the full, and he really enjoyed keeping active. Elliot recognised how physical activity could have a really positive impact on mental health and emotional well-being, and so wanted to support Trekstock." - Annabel Dallen, Elliot's sister.

Elliot's attitude towards life and his compelling message has and will continue, to inspire people for years to come. We recommend taking the time to read these articles in a quiet place and use the time to reflect. Elliot's personal blog, which he started shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, can be found here: http://thecortisoldiaries.blogspot.com/

"Elliot chose to raise money for Trekstock because, among other things, Elliot liked the fact that Trekstock encourages and supports physical well-being for young adults with cancer, for example, by providing bespoke exercise programmes."

We're proud to share Elliot's vision of the importance of exercise to help young people thrive with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

"Elliot's friends and old colleagues have also done an excellent job at raising funds for Trekstrock in Elliot's memory, through challenging walks and cycle rides. It's really tremendous and Elliot would have loved the fact he's inspired this sort of action".

On behalf of everyone at Trekstock, a huge thank you to Elliot, his family and friends. For more info on Elliot please see About Us | Elliot Dallen Trust.

Leave a gift in your will

When you leave a gift in your will to Trekstock, you help ensure that we can continue to support every young person in their 20s or 30s living with cancer. Making a will is the best way to communicate your wishes about what happens to your things, so they can make a difference to the people you care for. It is easy to make a will – although we’d always recommend using a solicitor – and make a donation to Trekstock in your will, which you can do with a fixed amount, or a percentage of your estate.

How to leave your legacy:

If you’d like to include a donation to Trekstock in your will, we strongly recommend that you speak to a solicitor to ensure that your wishes will be carried out as you intend. You'll need the following details:

  • Our Registered Charity No. 1132421
  • Our address: Trekstock, Kingsland House, 122/124 Regent Street, London, W1B 5SA

An example of wording you could use:

I leave my / X share (s) of my residuary estate for Trekstock Charity, Kingsland House, 122/124 Regent Street, London, W1B 5SA, registered charity number 1132421 (England and Wales), absolutely for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.

Many donors like to include some extra wishes, such as a programme they would like to support. If you have remembered Trekstock in your will, we'd love to hear from you so that we can thank you properly for your kind gesture. We promise anything you tell us will be confidential and not legally binding.

If you’d like to find out more information about donating in your will to Trekstock, please email [email protected] or you can contact the office on 020 44517601.
