The Sanctuary Room
The new Jane Goodman Sanctuary Room by Trekstock Cancer Support at University College London Hospital (UCLH), will improve the physical and mental well-being of cancer patients in their 20s, 30s and 40s for years to come. It will compliment everything we offer and could be a patient’s first engagement with Trekstock during diagnosis and treatment.

NHS Room
The new Jane Goodman Sanctuary Room by Trekstock Cancer Support at University College London Hospital (UCLH), will improve the physical and mental well-being of cancer patients in their 20s, 30s and 40s for years to come. It will compliment everything we offer and could be a patient’s first engagement with Trekstock during diagnosis and treatment.
If you're in your 20s, 30s or 40s and receiving treatment at University College London Hospital, the Jane Goodman Sanctuary Room is here for you.

A calm, welcoming space on the ward, designed around the experiences of people just like you.
Hospitals aren't always built with young adults in mind. The Sanctuary Room is different. Located on UCLH's Young Adult ward, it's a place to take a breath, spend time with people you love, and feel like yourself again, even for a moment.
Every detail was shaped by our community: warm lighting, comfortable seating, and a feel that's deliberately unlike a clinical ward.
Practical considerations matter too, so all materials are antimicrobial, and the room is fully wheelchair accessible. Plus, thanks to generous contributions from Trekstock’s partners, the Sanctuary Room is stocked with personal touches and activities to make you feel a little more at home.
The room is also a starting point for wider support from Trekstock. From the space, you can find out about our free online exercise programme, upcoming Meet and Move events, our Food + Cancer guide, and peer support that connects you with others who genuinely get it.
You shouldn't have to face this alone. We're glad you found us.
“In our Oncology service, we are committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients and their loved ones. Having an environment that promotes emotional wellbeing is such a vital part of what we aspire to achieve every day.
The Trekstock room will transform the experience of our patients and their families and particularly support our young adults during their treatment.”
Simon Waller, Oncology Matron at UCLH
