Exhibition: Are You Better Yet?
As part of our shared commitment to improving outcomes and enriching the lives of those facing a cancer diagnosis, Fujifilm UK and Trekstock Cancer Support have collaborated with award-winning portrait photographer Michael Leckie to present 'Are You Better Yet?'. This exhibition shines a light on the often untold stories of people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, and their lives alongside cancer, whether they are facing a diagnosis, undergoing treatment, or navigating recovery.
Sophie Epstone MBE, CEO and Founder of Trekstock Cancer Support, said:
“For people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, life after cancer can be marked by ongoing challenges that can leave people feeling unsupported and isolated once treatment ends, just when those around them expect life to return to “normal”. In reality, many are dealing with long-term side effects, anxiety, and a huge sense of uncertainty. "Are You Better Yet?" exists to challenge that narrative and make sure young people feel seen, understood and supported beyond treatment. A huge thank you to Natalie, Sean, Anj, Jak, Jonny, Sophie, Joe and Andy for sharing their stories and being part of this special project.”
Shot on the FUJIFILM GFX 100 II, these portraits authentically capture eight Trekstock Ambassadors who we've supported, and continue to collaborate with. From skaters and marketers to physiotherapists and tradespeople, these individuals illustrate the breadth and diversity of those affected by cancer. This exhibition shows that the cancer journey is one with depth and nuance; one defined by companionship, kindness and unexpected moments of joy - as well as extreme difficulties.
Accompanying the exhibition, Chris Turner has captured the Ambassadors' experiences in this short film.
Allan Elborn, Managing Director, Fujifilm Healthcare UK, said:
“At Fujifilm, we believe healthcare doesn’t stop at diagnosis or treatment. This exhibition shines a light on the human side of cancer - the lived experiences that often go unseen - and we’re proud to partner with Trekstock to help amplify these voices at such a critical moment for cancer policy in the UK.”
We invite you to follow the stories of these ambassadors as they share life as they see it - across themes like fitness and nutrition, isolation, jobs and careers, dating and relationships. These portraits don’t just explore the lasting impact cancer has had on each person’s life; they shine a light on who they are beyond their diagnosis.
Their photo diaries offer an honest glimpse into the mosaic of their worlds, from the unseen realities of navigating life after cancer to the moments spent with friends, the hobbies they love, and the things that make them feel most like themselves.
We'd love you to swing by and visit this free exhibition at the FUJIFILM House of Photography from Friday 30th January 2026 to Sunday 29th March 2026, to explore the stories through a mix of paper prints, 3D objects, and interactive activities.
