A huge thank you to the players of The National Lottery: Awards for All for supporting Trekstock this July

A huge thank you to the players of The National Lottery and to The National Lottery: Awards for All for awarding £20,000 for our London based new Strength in Community - Meetups for young people in their 20s and 30s with cancer.

Trekstock is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a £20,000 grant from The National Lottery: Awards for All. This funding will significantly impact our community by supporting our "Strength in Community" initiative, providing essential meetups for young people in their 20s and 30s with cancer in London.

Over the next year, the grant will enable our Community Ambassadors, who have personal experience with cancer, to host various meetup events cntered around wellbeing activities such as local walks, yoga classes, and sound baths. These Ambassador-led events aim to create safe spaces for individuals living with cancer, empowering them to form meaningful connections and nurture peer-support networks based on shared interests and experiences.

Trekstock's commitment to improving the lives of young adults living with cancer continues to grow, and this generous funding from The National Lottery: Awards for All will further our mission to support and uplift our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the players of the National Lottery for making this vital work possible. Amy, Director of Fundraising

The "Strength in Community" initiative focuses on helping young people with all types of cancer reach their potential during this crucial life stage by fostering resilience and boosting their confidence. By actively engaging and involving young people in the programme, we aim to:

  • Create supportive spaces where individuals feel empowered and less isolated
  • Encourage participants to become more physically active and better equipped to live their best lives
  • Increase the involvement of men with cancer in our meetup events
  • Strengthen local community connections

A huge thank you to The National Lottery: Awards for All and their players around the country for helping us make this project possible. We look forward to sharing updates on the programme over the next year.
